Materials, Design & Other Characteristics
:
DHK's ARC50 suit is manufactured using a special layering
system, with a fiber content of 72% aramid and 28% PFR rayon.
Fabric system weight is 18.4 oz/yd². All the materials
used in the construction of this suit are inherently flame
resistant. The knit cuffs, zippers, tape, threads and Velcro
® are made of Nomex ® . The hood window is manufactured
with a mix of polycarbonate and DHK's proprietary ArcX™
energy absorbing material. This high-tech material allows
a visible light transmission of an amazing 37%. The outer
surface of the shield comes with DHK's proprietary material
Silicote™-1 scratch resistant coating (up to five times
longer product life) and the inner surface has a permanent
antifog coating. The fabric system has an arc rating (ATPV)
of 65 cal/cm²and the hood has an arc rating(ATPV) of
63 cal/cm². This accomplishment is part of DHK's ongoing
research and development for a safer workplace using high-tech
materials. |
